In addition to putting on our own events Mud and Sweat is also able to help you organise your own event. From hire of equipment to event consultancy, our wide range of event infrastructure  and experience in organising events can help ensure your event runs smoothly.

We can have equipment couriered to you or we can deliver it, set it up and even run it for you. Our experience ranges from controlling and planning 2 day mountain marathons, schools sponsored walk challenges to multi-day corporate team challenges.

Arch

Hire

 

Our Race Arches (all are 8m wide) are ideal for all types of event, where you would like to create a visual spectacle - from running, cycling, triathlon, motocross or any other type of event you can think of. They are also great for promotional events.

We are used to running our own events, so you can be assured that we offer a service with you, the event organiser, in mind. From the point you contact us, to receiving the arch in plenty of time for your event to start, through to a courier collecting it from you after your event, we will make the whole process as smooth as possible, whilst at the same time being the most competitively priced in the market.

Each arch hire comes with the inflatable race arch, electric blower and unbranded start/finish banners. There is velcro on both sides of the horizontal bars, to allow fixing of your own branded banners if needed. The arches have the tether lines attached but you will need to provide your own pegs or sandbags to secure it in place. You will need an electric point or a small generator to power the blower.

Hire arches come delivered in a plastic barrel, which can easy fit in a medium size car with the seats down.

The height of the arches is enough to allow emergency vehicles to pass under easily. Our inflatable arches are quick and easy to erect, and as they are made from PVC nylon can be erected and manoeuvred with only 2 people.

Our hire charges can be found in the table below.  Prices are subject to change without notice and are subject to VAT at 20%.

 

Please note; our hire charges are based on how many days the equipment will be used for on the event itself.  We aim to ship the equipment to you, to arrive at least one day prior to your event – if you require it to arrive earlier than this, for example to set up early, we would charge 30% of the daily rate listed below for every extra days hire. 

 

For example; if your event is taking place on a Saturday, we will courier the equipment to arrive with you on the day before (Friday).  We would expect the equipment not to be used on the Sunday and then for you to return the equipment to us on the Monday, to arrive back with us by the Tuesday – you would only be charged 1 days hire.

SportIdent

Timing

 

What is SportIdent?

SportIdent is a system which is used at many types of event to both time and score competitors. Each competitor carries a small plastic ‘SportIdent Card’ which is quickly 'punched' into the hole in the top of the electronic stations which are located at each checkpoint, or the finish point.

The card contains a computer chip which picks up data, such as the locations and times they were visited, from each checkpoint/station that it is 'punched' into. This data can then be downloaded into a computer at the Finish to give information about which controls the competitor has visited and how long it took to get there from the previous control, along with their overall time taken.  Each competitor is given an immediate printout that provides a summary of their performance.  The computer will also create overall results for your event.

How does it work?

 

Stations can either be put on plastic stakes with or without high visibility ‘kite’s', or if security is an issue, we have wire strops that can be used to attach the stations to immovable objects such as trees – these strops are secured using a special tool (which we supply).

 

The SportIdent Cards can be attached to competitors in a number of ways – either attached to their wrist using a tyvek strap, attached to a lanyard or similar that can be hung around their neck, or attached to a bike or vehicle using a special yo-yo for example.  There are several versions of the SportIdent Cards, SI Card 9 will hold up to 50 Checkpoint Visits whereas the SI Card 8 will only hold 36 Checkpoint Visits.

What we can offer

We offer a tailor-made service to fit in with your event, budget and needs. This can be as simple as purely hiring you the equipment required to use the system at your events through to offering consultancy on how to operate the equipment or even attending the events and operating the system for you.

 

We can create and run registration, download, produce the results or even assist you in putting out checkpoints.

Where you require additional equipment that we do not hold, we can either arrange to put you in touch with other suppliers to provide it, or we can hire it for you and pass on the direct cost (their costs may be different to ours).  NB – We only hold 100 SportIdent Card 8’s ourselves *.

Marquee

Hire

 

We have just taken delivery of a 6m x 12 m PU Gala marquee for our events, this will be available to hire shortly. Due to its size, it cannot be couriered but we will be offering a delivery and set up service.

This marque is ideal for event registration and briefing, storage/set up area or for setting up as a dining area. It will hold 120 people standing auditorium style and 60 people seated at tables.

In addition to this we will soon have 12 fold out 6' long plastic tables, ideal for all sorts of events or for creating a dining area.

Consultancy

 

We have a lot of experience here at Mud and Sweat in putting on events as well as working with other event organisers as consultants. We can provide advice on all aspects of putting on a great event and can support this with equipment and staff to enable you to do this.
